Runner's World Daily News interviewed 46 year-old Austin runner Carmen Troncoso who has been breaking records in her 45-49 age group. It mentions the following U.S. women's 45-49 age group records: 35:30 for the 10K, 16:55 for the 5K and 27:45 for the 8K.
I thought her name looked familiar. She placed third at the Austin Schlotzsky's 5K Bun Run with a time of 17:01. The two women who came ahead of her were the two Russian national team members who are in their twenties. The next closest woman finished 17:31. The next closest woman in her age bracket finished 18:52.
